Obituary
Anita was born and raised in Guelph to Agnes and George Buzbuzian, the youngest of seven children. She met Bill in 1960, when he was studying at Ontario Agricultural College. He recalls that when not working, at a shoestore in Guelph, she enjoyed both skiing and, especially, sporting the latest skiwear. After their marriage, they moved to Sarnia, and later London, Burlington, and in 1977 to Bill’s family home in Waterdown, bringing with them three children, Bradley (1961), Shelley (1964) and Jason (1973). Anita was a loyal friend, a stylish hostess , and was always ready for adventure, whether boating with the family in Florida, during summers in Muskoka or riding a seatless bike for cancer in 1969. In 2012 she was diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia. She moved to Alexander Place in Waterdown in 2018, remaining close to her family. She died peacefully on May 7, 2020, with family at her bedside.
Anita leaves her loving husband, Bill, her sister Clara, her sons Bradley (Lynn) and Jason (Sarah), her daughter Shelley Alexanian (Andrew) and her grandchildren Harrison and Jonathan Braden; Emma Braden; and Braden, Alex and Sydney Alexanian.
The family wishes to thank Dr Boyd and the staff at Alexander Place for their kindness and steadfast support throughout Anita’s illness. Friends wishing to make a donation are encouraged to support the Food with Grace Waterdown Food Bank or another charity.
Following a private family burial at Grace Anglican Church, Waterdown, a celebration of her life will be held later in the summer.
