With profound sadness we announce the passing on January 12, 2020 of Alma Marie (Née: Lent) MacKenzie; our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend to all whose lives she touched.
Born on April 4, 1928 in Wawota, Saskatchewan, Alma was a farm girl who never let her humble beginnings limit her incredible potential or quiet her achievements. She was a highly accomplished professional seamstress.
Alma was the beloved mother of Barbara (Grant) and Janet (Dave), and proud grandmother of Adam (Kori) and Tori.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; brother, Doug and his wife Fay; and a number of Donald’s siblings who left us way too young.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, and a great many nieces and nephews as well as the Stosky family, with whom many family celebrations were shared.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 12810 111 Ave NW, Edmonton.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Alma’s name to the Edmonton Community Geriatric Psychiatry Program through Alberta Health Services Foundations & Health Trusts.
