Alexander Gordon Turnbull Sr.
September 23, 1938 – March 3, 2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Alexander Gordon Turnbull born September 22, 1938 and left this world Tuesday March 3, 2020 at Labrador Health Regional Long Term Care in Forteau, Labrador surrounded by his family.
Alex is predeceased by his wife Ina Elizabeth Turnbull (2001), brothers John (2012), Henry (2019), Ralph (2019) Wilton (2002) and sisters Mildred and Louise (2017), his parents Barton and Rachel Turnbull.
Left to mourn are his daughters Vivian (Tom) and Kimberly (Derrick) and sons Edward (Ina), Alex Jr. (Pearl) Everett (Darlene), Melvin (Thelma), Darrell (Katrina) and Kevin. Also, left to mourn are grandchildren Lorenda (Damien), Karen (Neil), Anthony, Andy, Amanda (Damien), Ricky, Rodney (Irene), Jordan, Shania, Mitchell and Hailey, 5 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Resting at Calvary Temple Charlottetown, Labrador on Wednesday
March 4,2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 and again on Thursday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. . Funeral services will take place at the Pentecostal church on Friday, March 6th 2020 at 2:00 p.m. A burial service will take place at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Charlottetown following the service.
Alex experienced life through hard work and dedication to his family. Dad was happiest when he was building things, preparing fishing gear and equipment, hunting and working in the woods. Dad taught us to work hard and to value family. He was a creative story teller, fondly remembering moments of yesteryear.
The family of Alex Turnbull Sr expresses sincere thanks to the staff of Labrador Health Long Term Care Unit for their unwavering compassion and professional antics towards Alex and his family while he resided there. Your care and dedication will never be forgotten.
