Craig’s Obituary
BALISH, Craig Alexander – 68, of Lockeport, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully at home on April 7th with his family by his side. Born October 23rd, 1951 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Harold Sr. and Winifred (Hines) Balish.
In his younger years Craig travelled extensively across Canada and the United States. Owned businesses, worked in Toronto for a number of years until his retirement. He loved his family, the outdoors, gardening… he loved life!
Craig is survived by his siblings: Harold, Linda (Robert Hardiman), Kent (Sybil), Kevin, Michael (Julie), Dana Nickerson, all of Lockeport, Shelley Bailey of Lantz, NS. Many, many, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-greats. “We’ll see you on “The Hill” brother!!”
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Diane, brothers in-law, Allen Bailey and Brian Nickerson, niece Danielle Bell, nephew Mark Cooke, and always our brother in-law Peter Cooke.
A big thank you goes out to all of the amazing people who took such wonderful care of Craig during his illness. Lockeport First Responders, EHS, V.O.N., Home Care, Dr. Gillis, Tracy Smith and the entire Palliative Care Team, Dr. Keeler and all of the nurses and staff at Roseway Hospital, Dr. Murphy and all of the nurses and staff at Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Dr. Premachandra. And last but certainly not least, Craig’s family. Peace, Love, Happiness, and Good Health to each and everyone !!
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. A Celebration of Craig’s Life will take place at a late date followed by a party on “The Hill” for family and friends. Donation’s in Craig’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
