Karen Angela Jones 2020

Obituary
With deepest sorrow we announce Karen Angela Jones, our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, family member and friend passed away suddenly on Thursday March 26, 2020 at age 36. Left with beautiful, loving memories are her parents Wayne and Maxine Jones (née Parsons), her sisters, Tracy (Dwayne) Young, Amanda (Maurice) Bruce and the lights of her life, her nephew, Parker Young and her nieces, Charlotte Bruce, Molly Young, Madeleine Bruce, Mirabelle Bruce and her honorary nephew and niece, Zachary and Maria Greene. Karen is also remembered by her special aunt Goldie Rice, lifelong family friend Edie Sheppard, and a large extended family and group of friends. She is predeceased by her grandparents William and Mabel Jones and Cyril and Chloe Parsons.
Karen was born April 22, 1983 to Wayne and Maxine Jones. The youngest of three girls, she was known for her bright blue eyes, beautiful smile, joyful laugh and outgoing personality. She was a loving and compassionate person who enjoyed spending time with family. Karen liked fishing and playing cards with her dad, taking a walk and shopping with her mom or hanging out with her sisters and their families. She was proud of being “Auntie Karen” and thought the world of her nieces and nephew, and they thought the same of her. She always had time to do crafts, bake cupcakes, go swimming, or take trips to the dollar store. She never missed a hockey game, music or dance recital. Auntie Karen was always their biggest cheerleader.
Karen also loved spending time with her many friends, whether it was dinner with her lifelong girlfriends or a Rumoli night with the crowd from work. She loved to be with people and was often the one to organize fun events to bring everyone together. Karen was an active member of her community, volunteering for events such as the Mount Pearl Frosty Festival, taking High School students to Gros Morne, and supporting charities such as CIBC Run for the Cure. She graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with her Bachelor of Commerce in 2006. She spent her work days helping customers at Costco, enjoying time with colleagues, and volunteering with Costco for events like the Janeway Telethon and Kids Reading Program..
Karen lived with love and everyone in her presence felt it. She was selfless in giving herself to others in need. Karen’s smile was infectious and her laughter brightened a room. If you knew her well, or barely at all, she left her mark on you. The world is a lesser place without her. When you think of Karen, celebrate all of the good memories you have of her and remember the light that she brought to this world.
Due to the public health advisory regarding Covid-19, a celebration of her life will be determined and announced at a later date
