COLBOURNE, Arthur R. It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur R. Colbourne announce his passing at age 83 on February 23, 2020 in St. John’s at the Miller Centre (Palliative Care Unit). Arthur (Art) was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Annie Colbourne and infant son David. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Myra who was at his side to the end, his devoted children, John (Kara), Stephen (Jeanne), Linda Wheatley (Rob), Edwina, Paula, Denis, and Donna Curran. Beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Anthony, Adam, Kenzie, Terri-Lynn, Allan, Stephanie, Stephen, Heather, Christa-Leigh, Amanda, Bryan, Jaimee and Jarred. Beautiful great-grandchildren Isabella, Halleigh, Noah, Lucas, Rian, Addisyn, Myles and Brooke. Sister Edwina Burdekin; Brothers Charlie (Sharon), Rev. Gerald (Eileen) and Denis (Anna). Sister-in-law Loretta (Ray Snow) and brother-in-law Sandy Bugden (Brenda) and a wide circle of extended family, close friends and wonderful caring neighbours. Art spent almost his entire working life in various aspects of municipal administration throughout the Province. He retired from the Provincial Government in Dec. 1996 as an Assistant Deputy Minister of the Department of Municipal Affairs. In his retirement years Art published a book, enjoyed his workshop and travelling in the motor home. At Art’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, February 27th and 28th at Carnell’s Funeral Home, Freshwater Road in St. John’s from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Burial will take place at a later date in Twillingate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Art’s memory to the English Harbour United Church, P.O. Box 10, Site 14, Port Rexton, NL A0C 2H0 where Art and Myra shared many happy times in their various campers over the past twenty years.
