Obituary of Juanita Lavinia MacKinnon
MacKinnon, Juanita Lavinia (Nee Murray) – Peacefully, on Friday December 25, 2020 at the Post Inn Village, Oakville. Juanita, in her 93rd year, wife of the late John Alisdair MacKinnon. Loving mother of Gloria (Francis), Charles (Brenda), Gay (Paul), John (June), Robin (Carol Anne), Byron (Shelley), Brenton (Mary), Frances (Marc) and the late David. Loved grandma of Heather, Jason, Matthew, Christopher, Josie, Aimee, Corey, Melanie, Jennifer, Michael, Nicholas, Adam, Noah, Jared, Caelan, Keagan, Britney, Caden and Adalyn. Great grandma of many great grandkids. Dear sister of the late James, Catherine and baby brother Harold. Juanita has touched the lives of so many people during her life. She will be sadly missed by her cousin Eleanor Holmes, her dear friend Jan Gourlay and her family at the Living Hope Alliance Church, Georgetown. She loved the Lord and her faith was an example to all. Mom loved to tell stories of her childhood in Mulgrave, N.S. and was always quick to laugh. Mom especially loved and enjoyed being surrounded by her family at family gatherings. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Post Inn Village for their care and compassion that they provided to our mom. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Monday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Please call the funeral home to register for visitation by 4 p.m. on Saturday January 2, 2021 (Covid-19 regulations permit only 10 people to be in the funeral home for each ½ hour visitation time slot beginning at 11 a.m.). A private family service will be held in the chapel at the Jones Funeral Home on Monday January 4, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown. A celebration of Juanita’s life will be held for family and friends in the summer of 2021. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Foundation or the Living Hope Alliance Church would be greatly appreciated.
