Marlene Joanne Schaefer, formerly of Stratford, Ontario, is at peace with the Lord, passing quietly in the presence of His glory on December 11, 2020 at the age of 78 in Owen Sound, Ontario.
She is survived by her son Thomas “Sandy” and his wife Aggie and her daughter Barbara “Barb” and her husband Mike as well as her sister Judy Burns of Elliot Lake and brother John Burns and his wife Sharon of Belleville, Ontario. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Amanda, Chelsea, Sean, and Tommy, her great grandchildren Everett and Vaida and her nieces and nephews Debbie, Kim, Kyle, Mike and Liz.
Marlene loved animals, particularly her dog Jamie and pet parrot “Chelsea Bird” and sponsored abused animals as well as children in their recovery efforts.
Out of respect for Marlene’s wishes cremation has taken place and there shall be no formal public visitation or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marlene’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation directly, or through the website of the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home (Rutherford Cremation & Funeral Services) or by calling the funeral home at 519-271-5062.
