Obituary

Monica passed peacefully at Evergreen Extended Care Unit.
Born to Marian and Patrick Behan, Monica grew up with her eleven siblings, Theresa, Mary, Paddy, Tommy, Joe, Kathleen, Jerry, Dorothy, Tony, Danny and Yvonne, at the Shingle Mill on Powell Lake.
Monica married Albert Martin, in 1956. They raised their sons, Gerard and Greg, in Wildwood. Eventually, the couple moved to Pebble Beach where Monica resided until Albert passed, in 2012.
Monica found great comfort in her Faith and fellowship at the Assumption Parish. She was well known for her feistiness and generosity. Monica loved music, singing, reading, and thrifting. She enthusiastically followed professional hockey, baseball and tennis, and happily cheered on her grandchildren in their sports and activities. Monica enjoyed cooking and baking to provide her family with perogies and treats.
Survived by sons, Gerard (Corey) and Greg (Gina); grandchildren, Spencer (Gina), Carly (Greg), Cassidy (Dan), Brett (Nikita), Torry and Blair; great grandchildren, Miller, Harvey and Macy Pitman, and Rivers Martin; siblings, Kathleen, Tony, Danny, Yvonne and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband; siblings, Theresa, Mary, Paddy, Tom, Dorothy, Jerry and Joe.
Thank you to Father Tepoorten, Dr. Schweitzer and staff at ECU. A special thank you to Yvonne for the love and support she gave her sister throughout her life.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 11th 2020 which would have been Monica’s 86th Birthday.
