Lillian Bernice Wickwire
Age 92, of Moncton passed away
peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020 after a brief
illness.
Born in Berwick, NS to Frank and
Gladys (Gould) Alcorn, her family later moved to Halifax and it was
there that she met and married Bob. They soon moved to Moncton, NB
where they started their new life and family. Lillian was active in
the community throughout her life. She will be remembered by the many
friends she made through Wesley Memorial United Church and the UCW,
Moncton Chapter of Engineer’s Wives (founding member), YWCA
board and their wonderful Quilt Fairs as well as the neighbourhood and
engineer’s wives bridge clubs.
She was still playing bridge
regularly until Covid put a halt to such activities. She curled in her
younger years and latter spent many enjoyable winter hours watching it
on TV. She was an avid reader and was blessed with an incredible
memory. She loved living close to her two grandsons and spending
summers at Pointe du Chene.
Lillian is survived by sons
David (Winnie), Port Williams, Peter (Annemieke), Dartmouth and
daughter Elizabeth, Moncton; grandsons Alexander (Natalie) Halifax,
Lucas (Samira) Calgary; great grandchildren Edwin and Victoria; step
grandchildren David O’Connell (Tanya) Halifax, Roselene Royea (Kirk)
Sheet Harbour; step great grandchildren Jacob, Kathleen and Logan,
sister in law Faye Alcorn and many nieces and nephews in Canada and
USA.
Lillian was predeceased by her
son Stephen, husband Robert (Bob), both parents and her only sibling,
Robert (Bob).
Thank you to the staff at The
Moncton Hospital who provided her with such compassionate
care.
Cremation has taken place and
