Josephine Anne Fraser
1935-2020
Fraser, Josephine Anne, age 85,
of Big Marsh, Antigonish County passed away suddenly at home on
November 26, 2020.
Born in Antigonish she was the daughter of the late Malcolm
and Josephine (Whalen) MacLellan.
Josie worked at Maritime Tel and Tel and Braeside
Bowling Lanes in her early years. She was later employed with Sobeys
where she worked for many years until her retirement due to illness.
Josie had a great love for animals and was actively involved with her
children in raising calves when they were participating in 4H. She
enjoyed playing in her bowling league, playing cards at the community
card games as well as in her home with friends, but she especially
enjoyed teaching and a having a game of cards with her
grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Sandy (Cathy) and their son,
Cohen, Big Marsh; Donnie (Kathleen) and their children Brennin,
Callum, Madeline and Jesse; Leanne (Nick) Valhouli, Hampton Beach, New
Hampshire and their children, Tanner, Zachary and Sophia; brother,
Lawrence (Abigail) MacLellan, Pennsylvania; sisters in law, Claire
Fraser and Jean (Jim) Sherry and many nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Colin; brothers Malcolm
and George.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College
Street, Antigonish on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
pm. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery,
Maryvale on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Reverend Andrew Boyd presiding.
Burial survice open to the public with social distancing guidelines in
place.

PUBLIC VISITATION
PROTOCOLS
All visitors are advised to bring a mask when
attending a visitation at our funeral home. There are
markings on the floor which indicate six-foot distances as well as
markings that indicate 6 feet from the family.
It is important that you respect those
markings, and physical contact with the family is to be avoided at all
times. The province’s social
distancing guidelines can be found here.
At the direction of the Province of Nova Scotia, we
will not be handling Mass or donation money, though cards can be made
available for you. You will be asked to provide your name
and phone number for the purposes of tracing should a case of COVID-19
be reported.
Anyone who is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or who
could be considered high-risk of contracting the coronavirus should
avoid attending the visitation and funeral. The list of
