Gilberte Barnaby
1946 ~ 2020
Dieppe, NB – Gilberte Barnaby, 74, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on November 22th, 2020.
Born in Cocagne, NB, she was the daughter of the late Tilmon Goguen and the late Dora Goguen (born Goguen).
Gilberte will be sadly missed by her husband, Stephen Barnaby of Dieppe; her son, Jonathan Luc Barnaby (Julie) of Scotch Settlement; her daughter, Chantal Barnaby (Shamus Donelle) of Dieppe; four brothers, Ronald Goguen, Armand Goguen, Guy Goguen all three of Cocagne and Henri Goguen (Gloria LeBlanc) of Bouctouche; two grandchildren, Samuel and Nathaniel; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Gilberte was predeceased by two nephews, Daniel Goguen and Julien Goguen; one sister, Lucille Goguen; also by her sister-in-law, Sue Goguen and her brother-in-law, John Swan.
In respect of the family’s wishes, a Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Oncology Department at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre for all the good care and support provided to Gilberte and to her family during the hardest time.

Dear Barnaby & Goguen Family
Your loss is felt by everyone who knew Gilbert. She was a wonderful person with
a giving heart and a beautiful spirit. I was fortunate to have seen her in September at
the orchard. She was certainly feeling her illness but her love for the homestead was important to her.
My prayers are with you all
