Passed into eternal rest at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Thursday, November 5, 2020, age 70 years. Predeceased by her husband Dan, Grandparents William and Ann Martin, and brother Wayne .
Leaving to mourn and to cherish special memories together is her sister, best friend, and travel companion Linda Mahon, who has been by her side throughout her lengthly illness along with her two nieces Carol-Ann (Darrell), Allison (Russell) and families.
Also leaving to mourn are many special cousins, friends and neighbours who always took the time to call or visit which Carmel truly enjoyed, especially Joanie Thorne and Daisy whom she loved visiting as often as she could.
Always in Carmel’s thoughts were her children Eddie, Corey, and Kim, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carmel treasured every phone call from her son Corey who lives in Ontario and cherished her last road trip to Plate Cove East where she visited her friends and spent the sunny afternoon with her son Eddie overlooking the ocean chatting about the years they lived there.
Carmel was adventrous and loved to travel, she would try ziplinging, rollercoasters, and things like horseback riding through Dominican. She loved a good cup of tea, Saturday night cabin party, and visits with family/friends.
Although it is difficult to accept that Carmel is no longer with us, we are relieved to know that she is no longer suffering and is at peace. She will be dearly missed.
At Carmel’s request, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest in Plate Cove East where she raised her family. Details of her burial will be announced at a later date.
