Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Monday, November 2, 2020, Ronald McLean of St. John’s, NL, aged 75 years. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Mary and his brother Felix. Leaving to mourn his partner of 22 years, Janet Burry; sons Peter and Geoffrey; sister Cecilia (Mel) Oickle; and bothers Harold (Lisa) and Austin. Ron started his professional accounting career at the Waterford Hospital. He then moved to Newfoundland Farm Products as the controller. He eventually moved to Calgary, AB in 1998 where he was the controller at Akita Drilling. He retired in 2014 and moved back to Newfoundland. Ron was a hard, dedicated worker and gave his all to his job. Outside of work he was a loving father to Peter and Geoffrey and partner to Jan. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday, November 5th, 2020 from 4 p.m – 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6th, 2020 from Caul’s Chapel at 2 p.m. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Ron’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
