MARGARET KLASSEN of Coaldale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 28, 2020, at the age of 97.
Born to Aron and Anna Neufeld in Hierschau, Russia on February 23, 1923, Margaret came to Canada with her mother and siblings in 1948. They first settled in Rosemary, AB where she married Kornelius Klassen on June 18, 1950. Later they moved to Coaldale, AB where she resided until her passing.
Margaret was a very strong-willed, hard working woman. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the grand-children and great grand-children. She always made certain that no one left her house hungry. She loved playing dominoes (especially if she was winning) and working in her garden (whom she shared with everyone that came to see her). She will be truly missed, leaving a great legacy to follow.
Margaret is survived by her two sons Frank Klassen, Coaldale, AB and Heinz Klassen (Amber Langworthy), Coaldale, AB and daughter Elsie Anctil (Mike Axworthy) Red Deer, AB; her grand-children, Bryan Klassen (Tannis), Jeffrey Klassen (Danny Ross), Travis Klassen (Kymberli), Shaun Klassen (Christine), Brady Klassen (Marisa Sekura), Dillon Klassen, Amber Anctil (Cody Ferguson), Lindsay Crabb (Mark) and Aaron Anctil; her great grand-children Isla Klassen, Penelope (Penny) Klassen, Tytan Klassen, Zane Klassen, Olivia Klassen, Jack Klassen, Mackenzie Sekura, Cody Klassen, Aidan Ferguson, Noah Ferguson, Kashtyn Ferguson, Lilliana Crabb, Briella Crabb, Rylan Crabb, Houston Hanna and Presley Hanna; her extended family Myrna Allert, Corrine Klassen, Ted Anctil, Candace Langworthy, Jett Burt and Abigail Burt. She is also survived by one brother Peter Neufeld (Barb), sister-in-law Loni Neufeld and brother-in-law Henry Dyck; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Kornelius, parents Aron and Anna Neufeld, brothers Aaron Neufeld, Kornelius Neufeld, George Neufeld, Johann Neufeld, and John Neufeld; sisters Hilda Willms, Erna Neufeld, Katharina (Kathy) Dyck, Rosa Neufeld, Frieda Dyck and Erika Blank.
We would like to thank the incredible staff at the Chinook Regional Hospital for their dedication and expertise to their work. We would like to add a special thanks to Andrew…you were on our Mother’s Care Team at the end of her life. We are so grateful for your compassion and kindness at such a difficult time for our family.
There will be no funeral service at this time; a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
