Ed was predeceased by his parents Lorne and Mona Harper. He was born on Oct 20, 1947 and raised in Saskatoon, SK, the youngest child he loved to prank his older siblings. Still doing this even as a senior citizen. Ed loved to fish the Saskatchewan river as a child. Which was often close enough to his home at times that he could walk over to the river to sit and fish. Often fishing with his sons as they grew up. Ed was an avid hunter and had a love for the outdoors. This love for the outdoors is a passion shared by his sons. The family often went camping together, fishing, boating, picking Saskatoon berries and enjoying camp fires.
Ed loved water sports and took full advantage of the summer weather. He squeezed every activity he could in before the sun would go down. A life long entrepreneur. Ed loved being around people. A natural salesman. He could make any product a great purchase. Many customers became life long friends. Ed loved to travel and was always up for an adventure. Taking a driving trip across Canada from BC to Newfoundland was one such adventure. Hawaii was one place he especially loved. He made the most out of life having fun along the way, Zip lining, Kayaking or riding his motorcycle.
Though he was raised on the Saskatchewan prairies his heart and soul always belonged to beautiful British Columbia, where he called home. His fondness to cook and bbq was something he prided himself on. He loved any chance he had to prepare meals for his family and be a chef. He enjoyed to dance, a passion he passed on to his youngest daughter and youngest grand daughter. Enjoy your dancing in Heaven. Dad you were always fun. We are filled with lasting memories of our spooky Halloween houses, our pinball machine, the marathon monopoly games, winter tobogganing, go karts, ping pong tournaments, dart games against the champion player which was always you dad, endless games of pool, camping, Disney cartoons, star wars, and MASH, we had endless fun.
Our family would like to thank Dario and Christopher who rescued our dad from his vehicle and began CPR. The first responders, EMT’s, ICU medical team and Dr. Foster at Kelowna General Hospital each for their care, kindness and compassion.
Due to Covid, a celebration of Ed’s life will be held at a later date.
