Allison Henry
1936-2020
It is with great sadness that we share the passing
of Allison Lewis Henry, which occurred at the Moncton Hospital on
Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the age of 84.
Allison was a lifelong resident of
Salisbury, NB and an upstanding member of his community, which was
reflected in his volunteer firefighting in his younger years. He was
an avid gardener and enjoyed reaping the benefits of his harvest, only
after a summer spent at his cottage in Shediac, NB. Those closest to
Al will remember his amazing storytelling and his wonderful knack for
telling a joke.
He worked with CTV Atlantic for over 30
years; a job he loved and took great pride in, especially in his
coverage of the 1988 Calgary Olympics. He held great affection for his
work family, and they for him, often calling him « Big Al ».
He was also a cherished member of The Victory Life Centre, Riverview,
NB.
His most treasured joy in life was his
family; Katherine, his loving wife of over 60 years; their sons
Mitchell (Denise) of Moncton, NB, David (Kim) of Halifax, NS,
and Jeffrey of Moncton, NB; grandchildren, Alexis, Morganne,
Rebecca, Madison, and Colton; great-grandchildren, Ava, Jesse, Xavier,
Rileigh, and Michael. He is also survived by his brother, Mark Henry
of Moncton, NB as well as several nieces and nephews.
Allison was predeceased by his parents,
Harold and Vivian (Lewis) Henry, and his brother, William
Henry.
Arrangements in care of Salisbury
Funeral Home and Crematorium (506-372-4800). A private family memorial
will be held in the coming days. Interment will be in the Elgin
Cemetery, Elgin, NB. Donations may be made to Food Depot Alimentaire
or a charity of the donor’s choice.
