Theodore Leslie Kutschke Sept 7th 1952- Sept 4th 2020
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of “Ted” Theodore Leslie Kutschke, who died September 4th at Health Science North, surrounded by his loving family.
Ted will be sorely missed by his wife Lynn, children Ashley Rozon (Chantal), Alexander Kutschke (Brenda Mckeen) and Nana Fukuda (Brian).
Proud grandpa of Lucian Rozon, Madison Chrusch and Nina
Predeceased by parents Leslie and Esther Kutschke (nee Sonnenburg); loving brother of Betty Burgess (Randy) and Carol Jerome (Wayne); predeceased brother Fred Kutschke (Bonny); and will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ted was kind man with a giving heart and warm personality; he was most happy working and spending time with his family.
A first class stationary engineer, who retired from the Nickel Refinery (INCO), Tormont, Cambrian College and the TSSA.
Ted came out of retirement to work at Anmar Mechanical this past year, and thoroughly enjoyed getting back to the workforce.
His strong work ethic, and easy going, friendly nature made him an asset to every job. His career was a significant part of his identity.
To honour Ted, a bursary, will be set up for a student(s) attending the power engineering program at Cambrian College, in his name.
Ted lived with his wife Lynn, for many years on Manitoulin Island. He loved puttering in “God’s country” and spent time spoiling his pets and grand dogs. The island will always be a special place where memories were made, particularly with his best pal and grandson Lucian.
Ted enjoyed his Florida residence where he and Lynn escaped the snow to enjoy retirement.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and PSW’s on 4North, 6 South and the ICU at HSN. Ted’s illness was brief but his hospital stay lasted 63 days. Our family will never forget the kindness of his medical team during his challenging fight to live.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a small funeral service will be held at the Church of the Ascension, on Saturday September 12th at 1130am. Please notify family if attending.
Followed by a reception and celebration of his life at the Plaza Hotel 1436 Bellevue Ave Sudbury, where family and friends are welcomed to come by and celebrate Ted, beginning at 130pm.
Interment at the family plot, Monday September 14th 9:00 am, Park Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, www.lougheed.org.
