1931-2020
Herman Lavigne, 89 years of age, passed away at The Regional Hospital in Bathurst after a brief illness, on Wednesday August 26, 2020. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Albert and Blanche Eva (Martel) Lavigne and husband of the late Annie Edna (O’Hearn) Lavigne.
He is survived by five sons: Morris (Barbara Thring) from Rockwood, Norman (Jane Blanchard) from Toronto, Leo (Marion Scott) from Pokeshaw, Herman JR (Beverly Birgin) from Elora and Herbert (Eileen Henry) from Bathurst; three daughters: Helen (Michel Boudreau) from St-Lauren, Margaret (Robert Noël) from Tracadie and Marjorie (Carl Gray) from Fergus; many grand and great grand children, nieces and nephews. Survived by one brother: Donald Lavigne from Bathurst and by four sisters: Bibianne Legacy from Bathurst, Jeannine (Lorenzo) Vienneau from Rough Waters, Yvette (Joey) Hodgin, from Fredericton and Annette Destromp from Ontario, and a son-in-law: Normand Cormier from Bathurst.
He was predeceased by on son, Roger and a daughter, Gladys; four brothers: Leonard, Paul, Claude and Albert and three sisters, Gabrielle, Marie-Blanche and Marcella.
A private graveside service will take place in Grande-Anse, New Brunswick on Monday August 31st, 2020 at 2 p.m. There will be a celebration of life at a later date for extended family, friends and neighbours.
For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to The Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in Bathurst.
