The Specken family is sad to announce the passing of our mom, Heather Lynn Specken, on August 21, 2020.
Our mom was born in Surrey on October 24, 1950. She worked at the hospital there where she met our dad, Dr. John Clarence Specken.
Later in life they both moved to the Okanagan and started a farm together. She had an active life, not only raising her two sons but also did weaving and participated in lawn bowling and curling.
Mom will be missed by her two sons: Shaun (Jen) and Jonathan; and step son and daughter Cheryl and Wendell and will be missed by family and friends.
Mom, thank you for bringing us into your life, for giving us compassion and love and a roof over our heads. The family and your friends will certainly miss you. A big thank you to all the nurses and doctors that took care of mom, our hearts go out to you.
There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
