Juliette Y. Babineau
1921-2020
It is with profound sadness that we
announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother
Juliette (LeBlanc) Babineau at the age of
99 on August 17, 2020 at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville just
months away from her 100th birthday.
Born in Moncton, NB she was
the daughter of the late Henri and Leoline LeBlanc
(LeBlanc).
She was raised in Moncton and Saint
Joseph in a large family during the struggles of the Great Depression.
She worked in Moncton at T. Eaton Company during the second
world war before her marriage to Fred Babineau, her husband of 64
years. She then moved to Sackville where they started their life
together and raised their family. She was a wonderful wife and
nurturing mother, grandmother and a great homemaker. She loved to play
cards with friends and family and was a member of the Sackville
Seniors Club where they enjoyed many organized bus trips and card
parties over the years. She was a long time parishioner of
Saint Vincent’s Church starting in 1949 and was a life-long
member of the Sackville Catholic Women’s League and was very
active in the church until her declining years.
Juliette will be sadly missed
by her son Robert Babineau and her daughter Lorraine
(Vaughan) Wheaton of Sackville; her grandson Joshua Wheaton of Calgary
who were all so loved; her sister Annette (late Leonard)
Cormier, and by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving
husband, Fred (2013), her brothers Leo, Robert, Paul-Emile and
Euclide, sisters Lorraine, Marguerite, Bertille, Rita and
Aline.
A special heartfelt thank you is
extended to the staff of the Drew Nursing Home for the excellent care
and love she received while a resident there and for their kindness
and compassion towards her.
Juliette’s arrangements have
been entrusted to the care and supervision of Jones
Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street Sackville NB 364-1300
from where a Catholic Funeral Liturgy of the Word will be held Monday,
August 24, 2020 at 2pm with Father Broderick officiating with burial
to follow in the Sackville Cemetery. This is a public service,
however, in these uncertain times of Covid-19 we do not expect friends
or family who feel compromised to attend.
Donations in Juliette’s memory
can be made to the Saint Vincent’s Catholic Church,
the Drew Nursing Home or the charity of one’s
choice.
