Obituary
Ronald Frank Green, June 5th, 1929 passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease at Kelowna General Hospital on Friday, August 7th, 2020.
Ron is survived by his loving family: his wife Patricia Margaret; daughter Susan (Dann); son Jeffrey; step sons Laurens and Mark; granddaughters Shannon and Leah (Randy); grandsons Jaydon and Ryan; great granddaughter Summer; and many more extended family. He was predeceased by his first wife Helen.
Ron was born in England and served as a Radar Instructor in the Royal Regiment of Artillery. This fuelled his passion for electronics and instrumentation ad when he emigrated to Canada, he started several businesses in the medical equipment field including Overseas Monitor Electronics for Medicine, Inset Ltd, Datrend, and GBM Services.
Ron was a lifelong volunteer, spending countless hours for many organizations: Optimist Club, member of the Masonic Lodge Southern Cross, Red Cross, Dunbar Soccer Club, Vancouver Rowing Club Cricket Team, Point Grey Liberal Association, Canadian Psoriasis Association, ASTTBC, CETT, CTAB, United Way Okanagan, West Kelowna Residents Association, West Kelowna Seniors Health Association, and there may be some that have not been mentioned.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date. The family would like to thank all the staff at West Kelowna Interior Health Association Home Support and to all the doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and all other staff at Kelowna General Hospital for their compassionate care given to Ron during his illness.
