Who passed away at Extendicare York on Saturday, December 14, 2019 with loving family at his side.
Cherished husband of Helvi Luolaja (nee Kauppinen) (predeceased 1995) who married in September of 1962. Loving father of Allan Luolaja and Sirpa Luolaja both of Azilda. Special brother of Martti and Maire (both predeceased).Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in both Finland and Canada.
Vaino was born on March 15, 1928 in Kuortane, Finland. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 where he worked at bush camps and then a underground miner at INCO. He always had a great passion for skiing, Olympics, wildlife and being with his family and friends. He lived at Extendicare York for 2 years and enjoyed having a great roommate on the 5th floor and enjoyed having others around to tell his infamous tales to. A very special thank you to all the staff at Extendicare York for all their care and compassion.

Interment at the Civic Memorial Cemetery.
