It is with saddened and heavy hearts the family of Ruby Florence Gale (nee Hintz) announce her passing on December 14, 2019 in Prince Albert, SK. Ruby was born to parents: Walter and Katherine Hintz; on May 6, 1937 in Leask, SK.
Ruby started her life of independence at a very young age. When she was 14, she moved to Shellbrook and began her career of 27 years with SaskTel. During this time, she met her husband Laurence and they moved to Prince Albert where they made a home and had three children.
Ruby only had 3 biological children but was a “mom” to so many others. Everyone always knew that Ruby’s door was never locked when they needed somewhere to go or someone to talk to. On most days, Ruby would be found rolling smokes at the kitchen table or baking bread for the many mouths she had to feed.
Many people passed through her open door over the years, some stayed longer than others. She was a dedicated care giver for individuals with special needs and helped them overcome obstacles and challenges just like a “mom” would do. No one was ever turned away.
If Ruby wasn’t working at home, she was at her other job. She would be there six days a week, 8 hours a day and loved every minute of it. Ruby dedicated her life to helping others and has had an impact on so many lives. Ruby was nothing less than an amazing woman and she will be forever loved and remembered.
Even though Ruby was forever working she always had time for her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren loved her witty come backs and how they never had to guess what Granny was thinking because she said everything like it was. Ruby’s grandchildren were loved by her more than anyone could imagine, and her memory will always be with them.
Ruby was survived by her daughters: Rona Tolley and Crystal Gale (George); her son: Grant Gale (Connie); her grandchildren: Kobi (Brandi), Ryley (Tyler), Morgan, Kiarra (Ashton), Kalista (Thomas) and Kashton; her brothers: Ron and Tom Hintz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
