Robert Allan’s Obituary
MACLELLANS MOUNTAIN – Robert Allan Hartling, 76, MacLellan’s Mountain, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Three Brooks, he was a son of the late Frederick Harold and Lena Erdena (Ward) Hartling. He began working at the former Trenton Works in 1965, where he was employed in the tank shop as a welder and fitter until retirement. Robert enjoyed trout fishing with his boys. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and tending his hobby farm. Robert was an excellent handyman, often helping family and friends with their projects and home repairs. He enjoyed playing cards, especially crib, with family and friends. Robert leaves a legacy of love and perseverance to his family.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Alice (Bonvie) Hartling; sons, Shannon (Margaret) Brookfield; Roger (Tracey), Colby Village; Robin (Lyndsey), Stellarton; many grand and great-grandchildren; sisters, Beryl Higgs, Halifax; Carol Cameron, Georgetown, Ont.; Thelma LaPierre, Hamilton, Ont.; Myrna (Graham) Rains, Crousetown; brother, Gary, Pictou; many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately
