Peacefully at The Pines Long Term Care home, Bracebridge, ON in his 85th year, with family by his side, on Sunday December 22, 2019. Beloved Husband of Sue Irwin (predeceased 2013). Loving Father of Dan Irwin and Catherine MacDonald (Sean). Proud « Grandpa John » of Jacob (Emily), Amanda (Ryan), Trenton and Hope. Adored Great Grandpa, « Papa John » of Rosalee, Anakin, and Levi John. Loving Father figure of Jane Wallace (Andy) and Grandpa John of Charlie and Grace. Son of the late Albert and Sarah Jane Irwin. « Brother John » of Arden (Judy) (late Keitha), Gary (Pat), and predeceased by Calvin, Bruce, and Joan. Son-in-law of the late Arthur and Catherine Budge. Brother-in-law of Donald (Debbie) Budge and Stephen Budge. John will also be missed by many loving Nieces and Nephews.
We thank all of John’s family and friends for many years of love, friendship, care, and created memories. We would like to thank Darl and Lorrena Bookman for their many years of support, constant care, and friendship for John and our family, through difficult times. We would also like to thank the amazing staff at The Pines, for their dedicated care and compassion in the final years of John’s life. We will miss those « Irwin » blue eyes and that million dollar smile!
Celebration of Life and Interment to be announced in the Spring, to bring John home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Matthews Memorial Hospital Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.
