Hugh Robert « Bob » Harris passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Kingsway Lodge, St Marys on December 13, 2019 in his 88th year. Loving husband of Ida Anne Harris (Packham) for 58 years.
Father of Robert (Christine), Philip, Douglas (Brenda), and Charles (Beverley). Proud grandfather of Crystal (Chris), Whitney (Tom), Kyle (Melanie), Marina and Victoria and great-grandfather of Aurora, Kendall, Bronson, Anna, Ava, and Myles.. Predeceased by his parents Hugh and Mary Harris, sisters Christine Newhouse and Margaret Boyd, and brothers-in-law Ed Doyle, Norman Boyd and Stuart Ball. Survived by sister and brothers-in-law Gertrude (Marwood) Willis, Eleanor Ball, Jane (Wallace) Miller and David (Nancy) Packham and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a dedicated member of the Doric Corinthian Lodge, congregant of Christ Anglican Church Lakeside, director for Oxford Mutual Insurance and a lifetime farmer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, reading, birdwatching and puzzles. Cremation has taken place.
Visitation at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. South, St. Marys (519-284-2820) on Thursday, Dec. 19, from 7 – 9 p.m. with the Doric Corinthian Lodge No. 569 conducting a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment in Christ Anglican Cemetery, Lakeside, at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St Marys Healthcare Foundation, Christ Anglican Church Lakeside or a charity of your choice.
