Hazel Agnes Owens
Hazel A. Owens, 81, of Faubourg Du
Mascaret, Moncton and formerly of Memramcook, passed away peacefully
within the comforts of her residence on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
Born in Moncton she was the daughter of the late Alderic and Laura
(O’Brien) Gosselin.
Hazel worked 25 years in the Pharmacy
at The Moncton Hospital, was past member of the NB Pharmaceutical
Society, attended St. Bernard’s and St.
Augustine’s Roman Catholic Churches, was a member of the CWL
and volunteered over 15 years with the Ray of Hope Needy
Kitchen.
Hazel will be sadly missed by
her sons, John Owens (Arlene) of Leduc, AB, James « Jimmy »
Owens (Denise) of San Diego and Charlie Owens (Christa) of Moncton;
daughter in law, Elke; cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Cassandra,
Julia, Emma, Daniel, Matthew, Lauren, Sophie and Savannah; brothers
and sisters, Tilmon, Annette, Jeannette, Evarist, Albenie, Alderic,
Angela, Florent, Sylvia, Danielle, Auguste and Guy; several nieces,
nephews, cousins and extended family
members.
In addition to her parents,
Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Charles « Charlie »
Thomas Owens (Sept. 29, 2012) and son, Rodney Luke Owens (May 13,
2015); brothers, Arcide, Hervé, Claude and
Roger.
Visitation at Fergusons
Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday,
January 2, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will
be held at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, (43 Botsford
St.) on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:30 am, with Rev. Allison Carroll
presiding. Reception following the mass in the Church Hall. Interment
to be held in Notre-Dame de L’Annonciation Parish Cemetery,
Pre-d’En-Haut, NB, spring 2020.
The family would like to
express their appreciation to Natalie and the caring staff at the
Faubourg du Mascaret residence for their professionalism and support
during their mother’s illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations
in Hazel’s memory can be made to the Ray of Hope Needy
