Peacefully, on Monday, December 9, 2019, in his ninety-ninth year. Beloved husband of Elsie Lapkovsky for seventy years. Loving father and father-in-law of Candy and the late Tim Wyse, Jeff and Kerry. Cherished ‘Papa’ of Les (Nil) Wyse; Loren Fisher, Stephanie and Brian Fisher. Proud great-grandfather of Odin. Predeceased by his brothers, Peter and Larry, and sister, Ann. Brother-in-law of the late Maury and the late Freda Hutkins, the late Phil and the late Evelyn Lapkovsky, the late Helen and the late Sol Lumer. George will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and all those whose lives he touched. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the 4th floor Hope Pavilion at the Jewish Eldercare Centre for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Beth Ora Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at the Steger Residence: 2450 Thimens Blvd., 6th floor, Saint-Laurent, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily. Donations in George’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
