Floyd Horace Freeman
Floyd H. Freeman, 87, of
Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday,
December 30, 2019, with his daughters by his
side.
Born in Anagance, he was the
son of the late Omer and Hattie (Rouse)
Freeman.
Floyd retired as
Secretary-Treasurer and a Director of Lounsbury Company Ltd. with 37
years’ service. Following retirement, he and his wife,
Shirley, enjoyed 23 years of travel in their motorhome and wintered in
Naples, Florida. His great love of Blue Grass music took him to many
festivals throughout North America. Floyd had a love for horticulture
and spent countless hours caring for his yard and property. He was a
Past President of the Moncton Lions Club and served on countless
boards throughout his life. He had a fondness for animals, especially
his canine companions.
Floyd will be sadly missed by
his daughters, Dale Pugh (Mark) of Moncton and Beth Black (Keith) of
Sackville; grandchildren, Aaron Kennedy, Jordan Kennedy and Chloe
Babineau and several nieces, nephews and extended family
members.
In addition to his parents,
Floyd was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Steeves) Freeman (August
2013); brother, Eldon Freeman and sister, Shirley
Fowler.
Visitation at Fergusons
Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday,
January 3, 2020 from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon, followed immediately by a
Service to celebrate and honour Floyd’s life in Fergusons
Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Scott Ryder officiating. Reception to
follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment will be in Fair
Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations
to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital, Greater Moncton SPCA or a
memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Online
