Enid Jane Lane
1940-2019
Enid Jane Lane, 79, of Hillsborough passed away suddenly at
her home on December 20, 2019.
Enid was born in Berwick, NS on May 1, 1940 the daughter of
the late George Edward Ross and Lillian Grace (Killam)
Ross.
She was a teacher and loved being around
children. She followed her passion of sewing and started a
sewing business but was happiest being a homemaker and making a home
for her family. Enid was very community minded and when her
kids were involved in something so was she; from making most of the
choir uniforms to becoming president of the skating club.
She and Ron were avid golfers and enjoyed the Hillsborough Golf Club
in their senior years. She was a member of the Bridge Club,
and looked forward to her weekly games. Her faith was very
important to her and she was an active member of the Hillsborough
United Church, she sang in the choir and played the organ.
She was a member of the UCW and could always be counted on to make
sandwiches, sweets or whatever was needed. She was a
generous and giving lady who helped out in any way she
could. She will be remembered for her great sense of humour
and contagious laugh. She would want everyone to
take comfort in the fact she has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour.
Enid was blessed to have been at this years Christmas Cantata and
being with her Church family just the night before she was called
home.
She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Ronald
Lane; daughter, Rhonda Langille (Jim) of Lower Northfield, NS; her
three sons, Kevin Lane (Tarja) of Oulu, Finland, Geoffrey Lane of
Riverview and Edward « Ted » Lane of Montreal; her treasured
grandchildren, Emma, Sofia and Hailey; brother, Floyd Ross (Judy) of
Philadelphia, USA. She will also be missed by all
her extended family; church family, many dear friends, her golfing and
bridge companions and her community.
This section from a poem; » My
First Christmas In Heaven » would be her message to all of her
dear loved ones, » I hear the many Christmas songs that people
hold so dear, but the sounds of music can’t compare with the Christmas
Choir up here. I have no words to tell you, the joy their
voices bring, for it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing. I
know how much you miss me. I see the pain inside your heart,
but I’m not so far away. We really aren’t apart.
So be happy for me dear ones. You know I hold you dear, and be glad
I’m spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year. »
Until we meet again.
Honouring Enid’s own wishes there will be no
visitation. A Celebration of her life and Funeral Service
