In Loving Memory Of
Elsie Marion Scott
Elsie Marion Scott passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at the age of 89 years, at Central Peace Health Complex – Long Term Care.
Elsie Scott started her life in Smoky River, on the way too Goodwyn. She was born in Grande Prairie, AB on July 14, 1930 to Regenold and Alida Moody. She had two brothers (now deceased) and one sister in-law. She married Thomas Roy Scott from Debolt, AB. They were married for 70 years until Thomas passed away on January 31, 1991 at the age of 64 years. They had six children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elsie lost one daughter from diabetes.
Elsie helped her husband for many years run Scott’s Excavating. They worked for many years in Chetwynd and East Pine, BC. It was hard to find jobs, so the moved back to Alberta. Elsie got used to helping her husband run the business. She drove gravel truck while her oldest daughter, Marcia White, looked after the three younger children. When the two boys, Doyle and Myrne, were old enough they started helping and Elsie became the secretary of Scott’s Excavating. She was always running for parts and supplies for the business and helping move equipment.
Elsie also took care of her disabled daughter, Colleen who passed away on January 10, 1995, at the age of 39 years.
Elsie enjoyed her flowers and garden. She always grew big gardens and lots of canning was done. She also loved playing games. Everyone loved her, but she was shy and didn’t go out much.
When she got dementia, she could not do the books anymore. She moved into Long Term Care in Spirit River.
Elsie was born into this world on July 14, 1930 and will be laid to rest in Spirit River Cemetery on July 14, 2020. As per Elsie’s wishes, no service will be held.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Elsie Marion Scott July 14 1930 December 15 2019..
