Donald Gerard Roberts
Donald G. Roberts, 87, of
Riverview, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday,
December 19, 2019.
Born July 8, 1932 in Point St.
Charles, Montreal, Quebec, he was the son of the late Ruth Roberts and
stepfather, James Roberts.
Don was a retired Heavy
Equipment salesman and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish
Rite and the Shriners. He was Founder and Director (2008-2014) of the
Scottish Rite Learning Centre for Dyslexic Children and was an
affiliate with NB Masonic Charities & Housing (Camp
Goodtime)
Don will be lovingly
remembered by his wife, Patricia (Logan) of 65 years. As well as his
children, Leslie Allen (Bill) and Scott Roberts (Cindy). His
grandchildren, Samantha Gilliss (Mike), Reid Allen (Rose), Paige
Roberts (Chris), Taylor Roberts (Brandon), Hailey Myers (T.J.), Thomas
Roberts, Liam Roberts, Shanice McDonald (Chris) and Nikki Dunn; His
great grandchildren, Kayden Roberts, Rebecca Reddin, Ava Gilliss,
Ethan Gilliss and Emmett Johnson. He is survived by his brothers,
Lorne Roberts (Christina) and David Roberts (Laura); as well as
several nieces, nephews and extended family
members.
In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by his brother, Neil
(Geraldine).
Visitation at Fergusons
Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from
6:00 to 9:00 pm. Coverdale Lodge # 52, F. & A. M. memorial
service will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home on Sunday a 5:45 pm. A
Service to celebrate and honour Don’s life will be held from
Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 1:30 pm.
Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service.
Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery at a later
date.
In lieu of flowers, donations
can be made to the Scottish Rite Learning Centre for Dyslexic Children
or NB Masonic Charities & Housing (Camp
Goodtime).
