Ursula Harrison (Dersch) was born in Marburg, Germany and passed away November 22, 2019 at KBRH with her family at her side.
She immigrated to Canada in 1952. She was working at the Bluebird Cafe in Trail when she met her husband Fred. He courted her for 3 weeks, proposed, and took her to Montreal & married her on her 17th birthday. In 1965, Fred got a job at Cominco and moved Ursula and their 4 girls first to Nelson, then Trail. Ursula waitressed at the Union & Crown Point and then became a hairdresser finishing her career at Alexanders. She later waitressed at the Uplander Hotel and did hair at Kiro Manor.
Fred & Ursula travelled extensively and were married over 50 years when Fred passed in January 2008. Ursula later met and travelled for 8 years with her common-law partner Jim Twidale and her girls. Jim passed in August 2019.
Ursula is survived by her daughters: Esther (Jim) Hill, Susan (Rod) Rasmussen, Karen (Gord) Trotter & Carol (Mark) Bradshaw; her grandchildren: Michael Hill, Elissa (Adam) Powchuk, Nathan (Jenny) Livingston, Vanessa (Michael) Scott, Alex (Bronwyn) Trotter, Morgan Trotter (Jeff), Jake Bradshaw (Loretta), Hailey Bradshaw (Marcus), Kai Rasmussen (Kalie), & Rebecca (Wayne) Thompson; her great-grandchildren: Mataya & Tristan Hill; Molly, Kaitlyn & Jack Trotter; Ivan Powchuk; Ariel & Melody Scott; Anya Rasmussen & Uzaiah Livingston, her sister Ericka (Jamie) Pipes, and her brothers Barry (Dulce) Kilb and Herb Kilb.
