Obituary of Shelley Elizabeth Charlton
It is with great sadness that the family of Shelley Elizabeth Charlton (Nichols) announces her passing. In the comfort of her own home, Shelley peacefully passed with her loving husband by her side. She is survived by the love of her life, Rick Charlton, husband of 41 years, and her three children, Stephanie McCrory (Daryl), Adam Charlton and Vanessa Chamberlain (Luke); grandchildren, Elizabeth and David Chamberlain; her loving father, Leonard “Nick” Nichols and brothers, Stephen and Barry Nichols; along with her aunts, Audrey and Patsy and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Lorraine Nichols. She will be forever missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Shelley was Rick’s soulmate and best friend and words cannot describe the amount of love that connected them. Stephanie, Adam and Vanessa feel so blessed to have had her as a mother. She was always a strong, supportive and selfless mother, while her playful and funny sense of humour also made her a cherished friend. Though the loss weighs heavily on their hearts, the family knows that Shelley’s presence will forever highlight their thoughts and memories.
Shelley and her family are eternally grateful for the medical and emotional support provided by the Horizon Extra-Mural team, the ALS Society, the staff at the Stan Cassidy Centre and Dr. Patrick Maloney.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. If desired, donations made in Shelley’s memory may be made to the ALS Society.
