Obituary of Roberta Denise Diamond
It is with great sadness but also with a peaceful relief that our sister’s/aunt’s struggle with cancer is over. Denise passed away on Monday November 25, 2019 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at age 63 with family by her side. Denise was the loving daughter of the late Alex and Sylvia Diamond and stepdaughter of the late Ernie DeRoche. Sister of Patrick (Rose), Hugh and the late William and Michael. Sister-in-law of Judy and the late Lee Anne. Denise will be fondly remembered by her cousins, nieces and nephews Lisa, Douglas, Michelle (Rodney DeGeer), Kenton (Jenna), Lee and Kristen, as well as her great nieces and nephews Kuruk, Kurt, Quinn and Carmen.
Denise grew up on her family’s farm just south of Port Perry and attended Port Perry High School, she then went on to the University of Toronto’s Trinity College and graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was a proud 40 year plus member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a dedicated member of Aurora’s White Heather Pipes & Drums Band. In her later years Denise developed a passion for photography and was able to capture many stunning wildlife images from across Ontario and British Columbia. Denise is fondly remembered as a loyal friend and a gentle soul.
Denise’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. A heartfelt thank you to all of Denise’s friends and family that have stood by her and supported her over the past two years.
