Obituary
With broken hearts, we announce Barry’s passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 7, 2019 following a sudden and brief illness. Born in Logwood, Jamaica, March 24, 1960, he immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1971 and became a proud Canadian citizen at the age of 14.
Barry worked with his hands and could do anything he set his mind to. He worked at many things over the years – from the CP railyards to dispatching for a towing company to property maintenance, where he studied and earned his boiler engineer certificate. While ill, over the last 13 years, he was unable to work but he diligently maintained his family home and yard, taking great pleasure in caring for those he loved.
Barry is survived by his wife, Crys and son, Jackson; his parents Lois Dwyer (Winnipeg) and Edward Myrie (Toronto), mother-in-law Shirley Porter (Fredericton Junction), and many family members and loved friends. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Leo Porter.
Visitation is Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Fredericton Junction United Baptist Church from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Funeral Service is Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Fredericton Junction United Baptist Church at 1:00 PM.
All arrangements are in the Professional Care of Sunbury Funeral Home.
