Mrs. Mildred Mills
At the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Wednesday November 6th, 2019, Mrs. Mildred “Marg” Mills of Chatham in her 96th year. Born in Dutton, Ontario on February 24th, 1924 to the late Guy and Pearl (Want) Pickering. Beloved wife of the late Harry Mills (1984). Loving mother of Barbara Reynolds and her husband Paul of Ridgetown, Bonnie Charron of Windsor, Brian Mills of Chatham and his friend Sandy, and Brenda Mills of Thamesville. Dear grandmother of eight grandchildren Rod, Lisa, Michelle, Jennifer, Anne Marie, Dawn, Jeremy and Jacob, eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friend of Alea Owen. Predeceased by her sisters Jean Burchiel, Doris Bennett, Eva Gammage, and Helen McNear, and brothers Bryce, and Guy Jr. Pickering(infant). Marg in her youth played ball for Silverwoods. She enjoyed knitting, bowling, darts and euchre. Marg was a life member of St. Andrew’s United Church and the Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 28 Legion as Sgt. at Arms. She was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710 on Friday November 8th, 2019 with visiting from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be conducted from chapel of the funeral home on Saturday November 9th at 11 am with Pastor Greg Simpson officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. A Legion Auxiliary Service will be held in the funeral on Friday November 8th at 6:45pm.
