With deepest love and profound loss we announce the passing of Joan Elizabeth Woodford on November 4, 2019 at Victoria Gardens Long Term Care in Hamilton following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Loving wife of the late Edward « Woody » Woodford. Cherished sister of William Richard Lee and Bonnie Jean White (departed). Devoted mother of sons Ted (Cristi) and Andy (Tanya), loving grandmother to Lucy. Beloved aunt to many.
A passionate seeker of knowledge, Joan spent many years as a teacher, primarily at New Toronto Secondary School. She brought the same enthusiasm to the game of contract bridge, in which she excelled. Quiet moments were spent watching birds and reading.
Cremation has taken place and a simple celebration of life with family will happen in the spring. Joan is best remembered by sharing the hearty smile and infectious chuckle she took with her wherever she went. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
