Obituary of Jason Lessard
LESSARD, Jason
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday November 14, 2019 at the age of 44. Loving son to Sandra Neuman, and Edward McNamara, cherished brother to Amber McNamara (Justyn MacLellan), Bill McNamara and Bob McNamara (Vanessa Evers). Much loved boyfriend to Rosie LLacuna and loving step father to Rashid LLacuna. He will be fondly remembered by nephews Easton, Eli, Hudson and Aiden and missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
As a survivor of childhood cancer, Jason understood the value of life and what it meant to live each day as it’s last. Jason devoted his time to caring for the people closest to him and was an outspoken advocate for the disadvantaged no matter which community he lived in. Jason will always be remembered for his remarkable sense of humour, taking the leadership role in any situation and setting an example for others to look up to. Jason would be the first to tell you life is not about the material things, but how you treat one another with kindness, compassion and respect.
Special thanks to the many doctors and nurses at Sunnybrook Hospital, the caring staff of Golden Care Pharmacy, and the Niagara Palliative Care Team.
A Celebration of Jason’s life will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 6101 North St., Niagara Falls on Saturday, November 30 from 1-4 PM. A service will be held at 1:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to McMaster Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
