Helena Salone Russell
1919-2019
Helena Salone Russell passed away peacefully at the Grand
Manan Hospital at the age of 100 on Tuesday evening November
26th, 2019 with her family by her side. Born in
Grand Harbour she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorcas
(Jones) Foster.
Helena attended the North Head Wesleyan Church where she
taught Sunday school in her earlier years. Her years were spent
devoted to her husband and home. Often she and Ron could be seen
riding their bikes throughout North Head. On most days Helena would
host impromptu visits on her porch with anyone who passed by. She
loved to be social, she loved being in the know. She was full of
spirit, sass and loved life.
Helena is survived by niece Barbara Foster, nephew Richard
and Ellen Foster both of Grand Harbour; nieces Nancy Foster of
Fredericton, NB, Shelley and Wayne Veysey of Moncton, NB; nephews
Terry and Lynda of Lethbridge, AB; Lewis and Nancy Foster of
Summerside, PE; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Helena
was predeceased by her husband Ronald Russell
The family would like to thank the staff of the Grand Manan
Hospital and the home care workers for their professional care they
gave to our Aunt.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29th, 2019 at
Ells Funeral Home from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Funeral Service will
be from Immanuel Family Church Saturday, November 30th at 1:00 PM with
Rev. Ward McComiskey officiating. Interment Service will follow at
North Head Cemetery.
