It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grand-father, great grand-father and brother, after a short illness at the Health Science Centre on Friday, November 29, 2019 – aged 91 years.
Predeceased by his son Paul (1992) parents John and Margaret (Harding), grandson Rick Haynes (2019), brothers Walter and Carl, and sister Mona.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 71 years Florence (Sharpe), daughter Donna (Wayne), brother Patrick Hickey (Dora), daughter-in-law Debbie, beloved grand-children, Carolyn (Adrian), Christa (Dave), Christopher (Jenn), Jonathan (Ashley), and Jodi Haynes, great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kylee, Caden, Kyla, Ashelin, Claire and Chase. Special neighbours (The Leonards) also his beloved nieces and nephews, Friends in Lionism and his MGB buddies. As per Fred’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Visitation and Reception Centre, 1045 Topsail Road, Mount Pearl on Monday, December 1st, from 2 – 4pm and 7-9pm and Tuesday, December 2nd, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held from the First United Church, Park Avenue on Wednesday, December 4th, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
