Evraire – Francis (Frank)
On Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Joan (Bricault) for over 62 years, loving father to Steven (Yvonne Boissonneault) and Linda McShane (Jim), Poppa to (the late) Michael McShane, Jack McShane, Margaret Evraire and Andrew Evraire. Born in Ottawa, Frank joined the Civil Service when he was 17 and worked as a Cartographer for 43 years; he and Joan were married until her death in 2014. Frank and Joan began St George’s Cubs; he organized the lay lectors and commentators in the 1960s. Frank also started a softball league and coached hockey, and he was the neighbour who delighted in snowblowing everyone’s laneway. As a young man, he enjoyed cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs, but after Ottawa got an NHL team, he was a Senators fan from then on. Joan made sure of that! Frank persevered after Joan’s passing, first moving to Carlingwood Retirement Community, then on to Embassy West Senior Living. We would like to thank both of these caring staffs for their kindnesses to Dad.
A Mass to celebrate the life of Frank will take place at on Wednesday, December 4th at 11:00am at St George’s Roman Catholic Church, 415 Piccadilly Avenue, Ottawa. Please join us from 10:00am onward, before the Mass at 11:00am, or afterwards in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or Alzheimer Society of Canada, would be appreciated. Tributes, condolences, or donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
