It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Cyril Murphy. After a truly courageous battle with cancer, Cyril passed peacefully away in the presence of his family. Leaving to mourn his loving wife, soulmate and best friend, Wilhelmena Murphy (Hayman). Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Murphy, and sister Gertie, Open Hall. Left with loving memories; (3) Children, Dwayne (Debbie), Craig, Hayman (Crystal). (7) Precious Grandchildren, Madisen, Megan, Jonathan, Kyle, Clea, Kendra, Hayman j. Cyril’s Siblings, left with broken hearts; Babs (Aiden) O’Reilly, Dorothy (Rupert-deceased) Decker, Chris (Ken) Abbott, Pat (Allison) Murphy. The Hayman family, also left to mourn their brother-in-law; Marion and George Seymour (deceased), Marie (Bert-deceased) Hayward, Mary (Don) Squibb, Janet (Arch) Kearley, Alvina Hayman. Predeceased by Father and Mother-in-law, Benjamin and Cassie (Coley) Hayman. A Special mention of Cyril’s friends and family; Lena and Tim Connors, Wilhelmena and Don Hardy, and a close crew at DCH cranes.A sincere thanks to many of those who have been a crucial caring part of Cyril’s journey with cancer, especially Dr. Siddiqui, Dr. Doody, many nurses and caregivers along the way. To all that knew him, Cyril was a true gentleman. He was a well respected man of the community, industry and trades. He had a kind and generous soul. With a true love for animals (grand-fur-babies), gardening, movies, cranes, music and the sun. Cyril was a loved Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Grandfather, Brother, Brother-in-law, and Friend. His kind smile and gentle heart, tough hands and strong will, remains forever in our hearts and memories. Cyril leaves a great legacy of hard work and dedication to his family, that will be remembered by everyone that knew him. Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday, December 1st, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral Service will be taking place at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, December 2nd, at 10am. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bauline Line, Torbay. While all care, concern and flowers are appreciated, as Cyril was an avid gardener, he was also a supporter of the Cancer Centre at the HSC. The care received time after time, smile after smile, made Cyril’s days there a little brighter. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated and may be made to the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
