Audrey Mae Crawford (nee Young) 1938 – 2019
Audrey was born in Orillia on August 5th 1938 to the late Wilson Young & Violet Dunn. She married Alvin Crawford June 15th 1957 and moved into the “little green house” at Prices Corners in 1964. The family moved to 90 Muskoka Road in Bracebridge Oct 31st, 1966.
Her life will be forever remembered by her children: Matthew Crawford (Louise) of Bracebridge, Raymond Crawford (Colleen) of Burks Falls, Nancy Warner (Greg) of Montreal, Kimberly Bullock (Ken) of Huntsville. Loved grandmother of Brodie (Julie), Kyle (Dianna), Emily (Will), Janet (Richard), Jessica (Kevin), Brian (Keely), Grady (Amy), Justine (Chris), Kenny (Jasmine), Rachael, Michael and 13 Great Grandchildren. Audrey is survived by her sister Margy Campbell (Dave) and had two deceased brothers Ernie Young (Dorothy) and Herb Young (Barb).
Audrey was a full time mom to her 4 children until she entered the workforce….managing operations at CBS Kitchens, as a cashier at McNaughton’s Home Hardware, and worked along side Alvin in many construction jobs and crafty ventures. She was never afraid to try something new, lift a hammer or a paint brush. Audrey enjoyed reading, knitting, family camping, and watching her favourite television shows.
She “loved” her time at Roger’s Cove. Her days were always full, chatting with staff and residents, playing UNO, Rummy Cube, knitting for family, staff, or a cause, building puzzles, or spending time on the phone staying in touch with friends and family.
