TIMOTHY R. JONES
1945 – 2019
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Timothy Ramon Jones on Monday, October 13, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 74 years. Tim was born on July 27, 1945 in Hamilton, Ontario. He later moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1979 where he resided until his passing.
Tim is lovingly remembered by his longtime love of over 30 years, Jean Pennington; his stepdaughter, Jo Hansum, and his many friends and family members who will miss him deeply. He was the devoted child of his predeceased parents, Clifford and Gladys Jones.
After graduation, Tim worked for A.C. Wild with his father, Cliff then moved to Calgary, Tim worked for Atlas Alloys until his retirement. Upon retiring he enjoyed time volunteering as a bus driver for senior citizens. Tim had many passions in life including, riding his Honda Shadow, working out at the gym and swimming in Lake Sundance. He was an avid health buff and enjoyed hiking his favorite trails. He also enjoyed many summers in Tobermory, Ontario at the family cabin. Tim had a great voice and loved singing karaoke, especially Oh Danny Boy and New York New York. He also enjoyed writing poetry.
A private family gathering will be held at a future date. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB T2T 5S8 in lieu of flowers.
