Fielding, Ruby Frances – Truro. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet mother, Ruby Frances (McLeod) Fielding, 91 years young, on October 27, 2019 at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Springhill, N.S. a daughter of the late George A. and Mary Alice (Rushton) McLeod. She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Chris) Brown, Valley; sons, Michael (Theresa), Onslow and Robyn, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Brittany (Curtis) Wyllie, Morgan Brown (Steve Stewart), Amanda (Chris Smith), Kristin (Paul Downey) and Taylor Fielding; great grandchildren, Theodore and Alice Wyllie, Brady Smith, Claire Downey; sister, Linda (Ken) Calder, Oxford; sisters-in-law, Patricia Howell, Riverview, NB and Verda McLeod, Amherst, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Herman E. Fielding; sisters, Georgina, Darlene McConnell, PEI; brothers, Allister, Gerald, Ont and Darrell; sister-in-law, Lois Fielding; brothers-in-law, Ron Fielding, Joseph Howell and Harry McConnell. The family wishes to thank the staff at Cedarstone for their exceptional care and kindness to our mother, “the greeter.” You made her very happy in her final years and we are so grateful for not only your professionalism but for providing her with a loving home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. Cremation has taken place. No funeral service as per her request. Private family interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to Cedarstone Enhanced Care Recreation, the Alzheimer Society or charity of choice.
