Mavis Roberts
Mavis Roberts, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at the age of 85 years.
Mavis was born in Hotchkiss, AB on April 13, 1934. She was raised in Hotchkiss, Spirit River, Manning, AB, as well as Senlac, SK. Most of her education was completed in Manning, AB. She was a compositor for a local newspaper and had her hair dressing license.
Mavis was an excellent mother, wife and friend. She was a very charitable person, as evidenced by her volunteering. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, bowling, volunteering at multiple places, and travelling with her husband and family. She was very talented in doing the most complex cross word puzzles.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Fred; daughter Merle; sons: Brian (Nancy), and Alan (Brenda); step-daughters Heather and Leah; eight grandchildren; four brothers and their spouses; one sister in-law; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Mavis was predeceased by her son in-law Albert and step son in law Harry, parents Roy and Bonney, one sister, one sister in-law, one brother in-law, and parents in-law Andrew and Elsie.
At Mavis’ request there will be no service and cremation has taken place.
