Obituary of Major Wellington MacLeod
MacLeod, Major Wellington Hoyt « Bud », age 90, Westville, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Westville, he was a son of the late George « Red » and Charlotte « Lottie » (Hale) MacLeod.
Wellington served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a fighter test pilot for 28 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Helen (Conrad); sons, Wellington « Buddie » (Sylvie) and Bradford (JoAnne), Ontario; daughter Bonnie Graves (Bob), Dartmouth; 6 grandchildren; brother Raymond (April), Westville; sister Carol MacNaughton, NB; step-daughter Charmaine Lowe, Halifax and step-son Stephen Lowe, Barbados.
He was predeceased by his first wife Beverley (Allen).
Thank you to the staff and volunteers for their care at the Aberdeen Hospital, and a special thanks to neighbours and friends for their tremendous support.
A grave side service will be held 1 o’clock Saturday at St. Bees Cemetery, Westville with Rev. Dr. Mary Taylor officiating.
