Died peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday October 19, 2019 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Center, Barrie at the age of 86. John of Stayner, beloved husband of Margaret. Loving father of Marisca (the late Ken Lucoe) (Jeff Hovey), Peter (Candace), Leo (Sherry), Ed (Patricia), Steve (Heather), the late Karen (Peter Davis (Lynn)), Brian (Shannon) and Matthew (Lorrie Ann). Cherished Opa of Yolanda (Jason), Phillip (Alex), Nadia (Blake), Daniel (Mari), Andrew, Katelyn (Tux), Emma (Robbie), Evan, Hannah, Ryker, Katrina, Eric, Kelsey, Abbey, Emily, Alyssa, Henry and Oliver and to great grandchildren Rory, Keaton, Aria, Sophie, Ellery, Cohen, Kyer and Norah. John is survived by his brother Peter and predeceased by siblings Margaret, Aly, Joanna and Theodore. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. John was a kind and thoughtful man who always had a smile upon his face. He was hardworking and enjoyed his vegetable garden. Above all he was devoted to his family, proud of their accomplishments and loved each moment he spent with them. He will be deeply missed. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Tuesday October 22, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 215 Pine Street, Stayner on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at 11 o’clock. Interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Reception to follow. If desired, a donation to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by John’s family.
